Dr Mark Tredinnick is a well-known Australian poet, essayist and teacher with a now not-so-secret love of crime fiction. He is a former lawyer and book editor, and the author of thirteen books, including four volumes of poetry (Bluewren Cantos, Fire Diary, The Lyrebird, The Road South) and a number of non-fiction works. He is the recipient of a number of awards including the Montreal International Poetry Prize, Newcastle Poetry Prize, Blake Poetry Prize, and the Calibre Essay Prize. He is a founder of the Association for the Study of Literature and the Environment—Australia and New Zealand, and the Kangaloon Group.
