Angela Williams

Angela Williams holds degrees in Media and Communications and Creative Writing, and a PhD in Creative Arts. She has worked as a waiter, salesperson, sex worker, glassie, health education officer, dominatrix and very unsuccessful criminal, and is now a Creative Arts lecturer and tutor at University, and writer. Her first-hand insights have appeared in several different publications including an article about mental health in NSW prisons by Inga Ting which was a finalist for the 2011 Human Rights Media Award. Her memoir Snakes and Ladders was released in February on her experience of going to prison twice for the same crime, thirteen years apart.
